Our last gathering was really exciting. We ended on Galatians 6:14, getting ready to tackle Galatians 6:16-which has been used in so many churches as a way to try and prove that the church has replaced Israel- to make the Jewish people appear as they no longer having any relevance to God.

There is nothing more important than this!

Please join us on alternate Saturdays for a time of worship and intensive Bible study, with animated discussion. Steven strategically tackles the books of the bible that are extraordinary confusing to the church body - he has a gift of both humor, and the ability to simplify what seems on the surface to be complex.

Thank you to Chris Barker (Worship Leader at Brookhaven Baptist Church , and the church leadership continue to allow us to use a wonderful room to meet in at the church. We have a private entrance from the parking lot directly into our meeting room. There is a great stage with about 50 seats.

Well, after a long holiday season, we are back in full force. I was out of town for the last meeting, but I understand that we had a great turn out. We saw friends that we have not seen in a while, and we pray that they will be coming on a regular basis.

If you are wondering why we changed the starting time from 4PM to 3PM, it is because of the time change. It gets dark earlier and we try to get folks home before we loose the day light. In summer we will go back to the 4PM start time.

Steven did a in house survey about the possibility of changing the start time to the morning, but it was hands down that the time that we meet works well.

Thank you to Amy Downey for taking us through a study in Romans, with a great deal of personal application.  If you missed this study, you missed a very special time.

Steven has returned from Israel and I am sure that he will have a great deal to share as he dives back into Galatians.   This is an extremely strategic book to study, particularly as we consider the extraordinary confusion that prevails in so many of our churches, of both Messianic and non-Messianic variety, regarding the purity and simplicity of the Gospel.

Please spread the word about this study. If you are a leader of a church or congregation, this will give you a great deal of meat to bring back to your body.  If you are a missionary, it will provide you with many more tools, and if you are a lay man or lay women it will give you a much deeper, richer look at the schritures.

What we have seen thus far as we introduced the book and delved into the first chapter, is the Apostle Paul at his most potent and passionate . Revealing himself to be no shrinking violet, Paul launches his epistle with an opening salvo that both establishes his apostolic credentials and unambiguously damns his theological opponents using fiery and colorful language.

Tomorrow night (September 17, 2010, at dusk) begins the holiest day on the Jewish calendar … Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement). From the days of Aaron to AD 69 (with the exception being during the Babylonian captivity), the high priest would on this once a day occasion cross over the veiled barrier and enter into the Holy of Holies (Kadosh haKadoshim) and present the sacrifice on the Mercy Seat of the Ark of the Covenant in order to make atonement for the Jewish people (Leviticus 23:26-32; Leviticus 16; Exodus 30:9-10).
